Restaurant Associates were proud to sponsor this year’s Wellbeing at Work Summit. Taking place in the Sydney Salesforce Tower across 12 and 13 November, over 150 attendees from numerous sectors joined industry leaders to discuss the influence wellbeing in the workplace has on powering performance, employee satisfaction, cognitive function, participation, connection, and much more. Our teams were there to weave their culinary expertise and industry leading insights into an innovative food and drink experience for attendees.
The impact food has on our physical health is well-known, however the extent to which certain ingredients can fuel our cognitive function and energy levels requires a deeper understanding. The objective of our culinary team at the summit was not only to nourish guests, but to take them on an educational journey through the food and drink they consumed throughout the day. The menu focused on three pillars of wellbeing:
From the welcome snacks, morning tea, and lunch, our Chefs brought these pillars to life and attendees were further engaged through informative ingredient cards and interactive nutritional posters. By focusing on ingredients like the Future 50, beetroot, matcha, turmeric, berries, chia seeds, mushrooms, and other superfoods, our teams were able to invigorate and capture attendees while they learnt through eating. The third pillar was also instigated as an insight into action as our delicious dishes not only brought people together on the day, but provoked further discussion and facilitated socialisation and connection.
We were joined on day one by two of our fantastic partners; Rooftop Bees and Made By Kade. Through their raw honey and live beehive Rooftop Bees made a huge impact on guests and sparked crucial conversations surrounding sustainability, community, and health and wellness. Made By Kade provided delicious, preservative free, Australian produced falafel that added to the finesse of our food delivery and guest experience.
The end of the two day summit concluded with an insightful discussion led by our National Executive Chef, Leo, on the profound impact food can have on our health, emotions, and social interactions, and how employers can harness these to positively impact employee wellbeing, productivity, and happiness. Lizzie, head of our specialist data analytics and insights team E15, also got to know participants better by facilitating a roundtable discussion that delved deeper into the impact of food and connection in the workplace, sharing findings from ‘Power of Socialisation’—our recent study on the importance of social workplaces and how to foster them.
The Wellbeing at Work summit provided a fantastic platform for our teams to showcase the power food has, and their culinary mastery. Attendees were wowed throughout the two days by everything from taste, presentation, insights and variety.
