The Great Hall

The Great Hall is a large capacity function area famous for its stunning stained-glass ceiling by Australian artist Leonard French.

Uses

A unique backdrop for a memorable gala dinner, grand wedding reception, large scale cocktail function or presentation, the Great Hall is Melbourne’s perfect art venue for your upcoming event.
Pre-dinner drinks reception can be held in Federation Court, amongst extraordinary art installations, with guests then led into the Great Hall.

Federation Court

Federation Court is the first space guests enter from the NGV at the heart of the gallery. Large scale contemporary works are displayed in Federation Court, providing your guests with a unique art experience*

Uses

Federation Court is a contemporary setting suitable for cocktail functions for up to 500, or may be used as a pre-dinner area for functions in the Great Hall. With a combined area of 1171 meters squared, these spaces have a capacity of 2000 (cocktail).
Dinner settings can be accommodated for 100 pax, with close proximity to NGV’s major exhibition spaces.

Garden Restaurant

Garden Restaurant overlooks the sculptural works and elegant landscaping of the Grollo Equiset Garden. With dramatic windows on three sides and bathed in natural light, the restaurant setting is relaxed and elegant. For the Summer months, enjoy a view of the NGV Architecture Commission.
NGV’s Garden Gate entry option provides discreet and direct access to the restaurant if preferred.

Garden Restaurant is a quiet oasis within Melbourne’s cultural precinct, and a premier venue for corporate breakfasts, product launches, intimate dinners, wedding receptions and cocktail functions.

Tea Room and Mezzanine

The NGV Tea Room and mezzanine space accommodates intimate receptions. The mezzanine overlooks both the contemporary art installation in Federation Court and the waterwall. During major exhibitions, the mezzanine can also provide a private entertaining option as part of the NGV Friday Night’s program, allowing your guests to experience a hosted event and the excitment of the music and art program.

It is suitable for cocktail functions of between 20 to 100 guests.

Clemenger BBDO Auditorium

Hold your next product launch, training seminar, symposium, or film screening in the Clemenger BBDO Auditorium at NGV International.

Uses

This space is equipped with state of the art multimedia facilities and has fixed seating for 250.

NGV Australia Theatrette

The NGV Australia Theatrette is located 5 minutes walking distance from Flinders Street Station, at Federation Square.

Uses

NGV’s smaller theatre has fixed capacity of 100 seats.
